Will be the first to admit did not watch the whole show.

It could be a combination of several factors.

A mild case of ADD.

Lack of interest in any type of awards show.

A lack of interest in any performers.

Or one of man’s best inventions the remote control.

Was fortunate/unfortunate enough to catch some performers.

Once again not over inspired by what I did see.

Nothing like a bunch of people getting together and congratulating themselves on how good they are?

Hmm well I guess that is what awards shows are??

Or maybe I should re-phrase that and say how good they think they are.

Nothing like self indulgence to inflate one’s ego.

I will be the first to admit that I love music.

I really love music.

But as far as any type of show claiming that one band or person is better than any other is in my opinion nothing short of ludicrous.

Music is a subjective beast in nature and what is music to some is nothing more than the screeching of nails down a chalk board to others.

Yet in order to entertain the masses they have to put on an awards show to say hey idiots out there this is the music you should be listening to.

We don’t care about your own personal tastes a bunch of people (whom are unknown to the general public) and rightfully so since they in no way represent the average man/woman’s taste in music have decided it all for you.

Ah thanks but no thanks.

I know what I like and what I don’t like.

And I do not need any show to try to influence me in what type of music I should be listening to.

Since I am sure that most of you would agree 90% of the people on that show I have never heard of and am quite content with that fact.

Since it is obvious to myself I have no interest in their music.

Ah the Grammys….

I know everyone out there has a song that brings them down the old proverbial memory lane.

When you hear that song it brings you right back to the place and time and conjures the feelings that were felt at that exact time. Be them good or bad.

To be honest yes I do have a whole library of songs that I am often led back to when a certain song is played.

And looking at these songs a little more closely I quickly realize that a large portion of them are of good memories.

I will not deny that mixed in with those good memories there are of course those songs that remind me when I was young and I broke up with one of my girlfriends.

Ah good times good times.

And it was at that time I thought life was over. Ah to be young and naive once again.

Even today there are some songs that really have no significance in my life other than they strike an internal cord within me.

Be it the lyrics, the beat or the lead singer’s voice.

Ah music…..
