Hmm I know there are many out there that believe the following regardless of how much evidence to disprove their irrational thinking.

9-11 an inside job.

Roswell and the American government hiding little green men for the public.

JFK and the FBI.

And the list goes on and on.

But something rather odd if I do say so myself recently has happened.

The world’s most profitable auto maker suddenly is claiming hey wait a minute most of our cars are dangerous and should be taken off the road?

At an opportune time to a) help out the American auto makers whom are still struggling even after that over generous gift from the American government.

Thanks Uncle Sam.

But if you dig a little deeper into this story the only place in which the cars have not been recalled is Japan?

Go figure.

Since that is the birth place of Toyota and as we are all aware none of the cars that we purchase here in North America are manufactured in Japan.

So with the American economy in the toilet and swirling around going down the pipes what a perfectly timed gift from our Japanese friends.

Don’t buy our cars which have been outselling American made cars for quite some time now since they are inferior (suddenly) and are dangerous ( once again suddenly).

What a much needed gift for the American car manufacturers.

Coincidence….hmmm well the jury is still out on that one.

Ya I know everyone out there has something to end the title of this blog entry.

Well folks in this day and age pretty much anything and everyone has a price.

Which makes me wonder what has come of modern society?

There is no such thing as personal pride, respect for yourself or for others around you.

There is one thing that money can not buy.

Your health.

Just look at Steve Jobs yesterday.

Frail looking yet incredibly wealthy.

Sick yet still living.

Now someone with that much money is not doubt getting the best medical treatment that money can buy.

But look at the result.

If one were to breath to hard around him they would surely knock him right over.

So for all the people out there that are complaining that they don’t have money to do this or that.

Take  a closer look at your life.

Are you able to get out of bed everyday unassisted.

Put your own clothes on.

Walk to your kitchen have breakfast and go to your job.

Regardless of how mundane that job may be.

Since I am sure someone like Steve Jobs would in a heart beat trade all of his wealth to be healthy.

Since what difference does it make how much money, how many cars, houses, electronic gadgets you have when you die?

Since when you are gone you are gone.

Unable to enjoy all of your riches so to speak.

So for those of you out there that have your health you are truly the wealthy ones.

And for those of you with the wealth spread it around.

I know it is almost a cardinal sin to mention Bill Gates and Steve Jobs in any type of context but Bill Gates has the right idea.

He is healthy and fortunate enough to be extremely wealthy also.

What has he done?

He has decided to help others with their health.

Since he has come aboard the thought train that health is wealth.

And there is nothing that rings more true than those words. “health is wealth.”

Hmm well at least they did surprise everyone with the name.

Ipad? To be honest doesn’t bring the most pleasant images into one’s head.

But a natural progression from ipod.

They are claiming it is the bridge between notebooks and cell phones?

It looks more like an over sized ipod/iphone.

Which in reality is all it is.

Add some graphic capabilities, grossly enlarge the size and presto you have the ipad.

Now I am not going to nit pick all of the ” things” that the ipad has.

Since I am sure there are other capabilities  that Apple’s new toy has.

But seriously folks that is all it is.

An over  priced over sized toy.

No one is really going to trade in their lap top for one of these now are they?

But there is the “Apple cult” whom believe everything that comes from Steve Jobs mouth is some sort of nugget of knowledge to live by.

No do you really want your cheap ipod applications to be blown up to be the size of a small net book?

Well I am sure once all of the hype has died down in the next few days everyone will see it for what it is.

A bigger itouch device.

A stock tip sell your Apple shares now well the getting is good since after this they are bound to take a hit.

You could tell by the audiences reaction there was a lot of disappointment for all of those thinking the world was going to change today.

I am sure a lot of people in the audience were saying “is that it?”

Yup that is it folks.

Nothing new but you have to give kudos  to the Apple marketing machine; since  they had everyone going.

Ah one of the hottest things on the planet right now everyone and their dog is trying to produce products with touch screens.

Well folks I know I don’t stand alone on this one but I hate touch screens!

Can’t stand them will never have a use for them.

Why you ask?

It may be because of the size of my hands. Maybe

I am a fairly big guy 6 feet 2 inches  or 188cm with maybe a bit on the large sized hands.

Just maybe.

But I do not want the challenge of trying to fit my finger tips into a space with no physical  sensations to be able to distinguish if I am inputting a w or an e.

I guess you could call me a tactile type of person.

My grossly enlarged finger tips like the feeling of buttons.

Ah for the love of buttons.

No smooth surfaces for me thank you.

I will admit even the other products out right now with a full qwerty keyboard are a challenge for me since the buttons are just to small!

And placed to close to each other.

As far as net books go…. well I do own one and even that is a challenge for me??

Hmm maybe I do have giant hands?

Or maybe the world is just getting to small.

Yes he has finally joined the masses.

And so far is updating it fairly frequently.

So it just goes to prove that for all of the people out there that say I’m to busy to do that…

If Bill Gates can find the time I am pretty sure you all can too.

Now I know the Mac community out there has a real distaste for Mr Gates.

Along with countless other folks that are jealous of his success.

Yes folks that is what it all boils down to jealousy.

Plain and simple.

Since what is there to hate about Bill Gates?

Other than he is an extremely successful business man whose invention dominates the computer world?

Or maybe it is how he spends billions of dollars on charities?

Yes his invention has had it good days and bad days but with out him there might not be any days?

It is so easy for us whom don’t have much of anything to hate those who do.

There are those people out there that are born into a life of luxury which makes the masses burn an even brighter green of envy.

But somewhere along their family heritage someone was either smart enough or worked hard enough to be able to provide that luxury for their family tree.

I will be the first to admit that I admire (note I said admire here folks not hate)  those who have done it on their own.

Made something from nothing more than those that have had it handed to them just because they were lucky enough to be born into it.

Either way you look at it though they are more fortunate then myself but that does not make me hate them.

Now before everyone gets all defensive about the title of this entry I am not referring to search engines,  ISP providers etc being able to collect information about your browsing habits.

What I am talking about is how people are able to say and do things via the protection of sitting in front of a computer screen.

Generally not having the balls to do it in real life.

So what they do is they slander people from the comfort and protection of the 2 way mirror known as the internet.

I equate these people to the short guys who drive around in big cars and are more than willing to honk at you.

But will never get out of their car like a real man and confront you about an issue.

Since you are nothing more than a faceless stranger with a big mouth on the internet.

You know the type I am talking about.

The pathetic people who have nothing better to do then to comment with sarcasm on message boards when their opinion was nether asked for nor warranted.

What a sad society we live in where people feel comfort or get an ego boost by telling off a complete stranger on the internet?

By putting in their two cents worth.

For the people out there that were born previous to the internet and were able to make it through school before social media came along count yourself lucky.

Cyber bullying is now a common occurrence in schools throughout the world.

But let us not forget the ones that use the anonymity of the internet to further their lives as thieves.

You know the email from Nigeria where someone out of the blue is asking you for help in transferring millions out of the country and in return you get a slice of the proverbial pie.

And now with the devastation that has recently hit Haiti the cockroaches are coming out with new scams every minute.

Hmm what ever happened to social conscious. Or any type of conscious for that matter.

I am a strong believer in karma

What comes around goes around.

So for all that do bad trust me bad will find a way of getting back to you.

So instead of sitting in front  of your computer like you are 10 feet tall why not try to go outside and spread some of your blasphemy with some real people.

And maybe when that fist hits your face you might think twice about using the anonymity of the internet.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that pretty much everyone’s bio information in their twitter account is “living the life.”

Helping others become rich on the internet, life coaches, etc etc.

What an educated bunch we have on twitter.

I am so impressed that all of the people living the life, helping others become rich on the internet etc etc have the time to educate us on how they were able to do so.

Hmm I think it is quite easy to see how people get rich on the internet no?

By convincing people that if they buy your product they too can live the life.

But there is another term for it. Pyramid scheme.

The digital version of it.

No longer are people hocking soap products and vitamins now they are hocking digital products.

Don’t you think if it were that easy to make millions and millions of dollars on the internet that others would be doing it also without having to pay anyone $49?

Why aren’t they doing it?

Well folks the reason is quite simple.

A sucker is born everyday.

Finally the government has gotten in on trying to rule the wild digital west.

Where all of the people claiming that you can make $1000 in 5 minutes now have to put a disclaimer on their product.

Results not typical.

Now if that is not an understatement I don’t know what is.

It should really read something like this.

The only way you are ever going to make any money on the internet is if you can convince another sucker to purchase the product you just got taken to the cleaners on.

It is not rocket science folks.

It is just common sense.

There are some who have better camouflage but the thing underneath is always the same.

Going way back old school they were once known as snake oil salesmen.

Selling an illusion that something will do something that was impossible.

But with the birth of the internet, photo shop,flash, graphics etc etc

The illusion has gotten bigger and brighter and more tempting.

With flashing lights, video, testimonies with pictures etc it is hard not to believe what they are trying to sell you.

But my last word of advice for everyone out there.

If it seems to be good to be true well I am sure everyone out there knows the end of that.

If you turn on any channel on the idiot box you will see the horror that mother nature has inflicted on the poor souls of Haiti.

You may also notice something else.

The over abundance of tv reporters from every station from every country in the world.

Trying to make a buck from the tragedy that unfolded several days ago.

I think the one that stands out in my mind the most is the shameless reporting of CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

If you were not subject to this atrocity the let me paint the disturbing picture for you.

Squatting on a pile of rubble with his smug face looking towards the camera and of course at an angle to show of his “bb guns” ( A side note here for you folks. Guns is a term that refers to describe someone’s arms. If you have big arms you have big guns. Small arms well then you have bb guns)

And behind him are several Haitians trying in vain to remove pieces of concrete with their bare hands as they hear someone crying for help in the rubble below.

It was so nice of Anderson Cooper to lean over and try to position his microphone so that the viewing audience could hear the person screaming in pain for help.

Call me crazy but would it have not made better viewing for the public to actually see a reporter trying to do something like help rather than just trying to sensationalize the tragedy around them?

But old AC would not want to get his polo shirt dirty now would he?

My heart and prayers go out to the people in Haiti.

Unfortunately their tragedy is only in the early stages and the effects of this natural disaster will linger for years to come.

Ya we all know about the panty bomber.

The idiot who packed his underwear with explosives and tried to blow himself and the plane he was on up.

And I really hope he burnt his nads right off.

Idiot little coward that he is.

But the real problem these days is the media.

Getting everyone’s tail feathers all riled up.

Claiming the sky if falling every chance they get.

What has this accomplished folks?

Other than the best world wide free media that the “terrorists” could every hope for.

Breaking news some honey was found at an airport??

Please.

There really is only one way to combat this.

Sorry folks but it is profiling.

There is a wealth of information that a trained professional can pick up from plain old body language.

Since someone whom is about to kill themselves and everyone around them are going to be giving off some pretty strong signals via their body language.

Which unless you are going to attach everyone to a lie detector test the only way to detect this is via the human eye.

So my suggestion would be to start training people world wide. Yes world wide since it is pretty much useless if  someone in another country drops the ball.

Hence the panty bomber.

And a little advice for the media out there.

Stop it!

The world is a scary enough place as it is without the constant focus on any minuscule thing that you can find to stir up the world’s emotions.

So what is disappointment?

Is is something that is subjective to each and every one of us?

I know that different people react to disappointment in a variety of ways.

But what is disappointment?

Is it the build of of anticipation, blood pumping, heart pounding, palms sweating only to have a bucket of ice cold water thrown on our hopes and dreams?

Or is it the countless hours or days or in some cases years in preparation for something that was said was going to be done but was or is not?

Or maybe it is the crushing of someone’s feelings when someone promises them they are going to do something but the reality is that their words are nothing but heated air being dispelled from the lips of a liar.

Now who is most affected by disappointment?

Hmm well this is a tough one since as mentioned previously the sense of disappointment is completely subjective.

But let us take a closer look and really dig deep to see who suffers the most from disappointment.

Well the first group of people that comes to mind is children.

According to John Locke children are born with tabula rosa so anything that they come into contact with inevitably be etched into their memory/personality pretty much permanently.

I am sure everyone out there can think of a promise that their parents made to them when they were growing up and did not follow through on.

And this for some could have been 10,20, or even 50+ years ago. So I think old Mr Locke had something there.

So we can all attest to the fact that disappointment in the young has serious consequences.

Now looking on the other end of the age spectrum. The elderly.

There comes a time in a persons life when they realize that their circle of life is near completion.

The little things that we all take for granted hold much more meaning to them.

Hence so would the negative aspects of disappointment.

There are of course all of the people that fill the spectrum between the young and old who all have their difficulties and trials and tribulations with disappointment but due to their mental and physical age they are more apt to be able to deal with it.

But bottom line disappointment affects us all.

So what are we to do about this.

Well the answer is quite simple as far as the wording goes.

When you give someone your word keep it.

But this for so many of the population is an almost sheer impossibility.

It is very easy to say oh ya I will do that, don’t worry about it, it is done, no problem etc etc

But not so easy for so many to actually act on those words.

I have told this to many people in my life and it is something that I stand behind even to this day.

I do not have much in life but what I do have is my word. And if I give you my word then I am giving you my personal guarantee that what I said I would do will be done. Period.
